Our client, a law firm, is looking
to recruit an advocate with experience in
conveyancing and commercial litigation.

- Offer advice to clients on the legal processes involved in purchasing and selling property.
- Work to protect the interest of clients and ensures they are protected against fraud and money laundering activities.
- Conduct research to identify legal ownership of properties by assessing government land registry documents or title deeds if the land is not registered to anyone.
- Visit local authority planning offices to check for any plans etc
- Speak to mortgage lenders, estate agents, solicitors and clients
- Prepare property lease agreements and ensure contracts are signed on the scheduled date of transfer.
- Prepare fee notes for clients
- Manage litigation records and the bring up system
- Carry out research on legal issues
- Collate documents and any evidence, identify and prepare witnesses in support of cases
Minimum Requirements:
- Have a bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized university;
- Post Graduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law;
- Certificate of Admission to the Roll of Advocate of the High Court of Kenya;
- Good communication, presentation, research and analysis skills
- At least 2 years post admission work experience in a busy law firm
- Knowledge of Conveyancing, court rules, civil and criminal procedures, land and company registry procedures;
- Must have hands on experience in interpretation and application of legal texts, statutes, rules and regulations
- Should be proactive, self motivated and aggressive
- Ability to work in a team
- Able to demonstrate excellent organization skills
- Ability to handle pressure and work within minimum or no supervision
- Must be computer literate
